Stunning Art Deco "Tiger" maple sideboard in the "Stepped" style.

Growing in North America, Tiger maple is a very exotic, expensive & sought after material, having a gorgeous striped grain and wonderful deep orange and brown colouring. Usually, this beautiful wood is used for smaller pieces of furniture, or hand crafted musical instruments, but here we have a large and imposing piece of functional furniture.

The edges around the top, and the door and drawer apertures are superbly crossbanded in contrasting walnut.

This piece has all the attributes of a superb sideboard, with the additional benefits of a Cocktail Cabinet - featuring plate glass sliding doors to the cupboard, where glasses and cocktail accessories can be stored and a pull-out drinks slide. The upper left-hand cupboard has ample storage space for bottles & and boasts a pair of glass shelves.

Below the pull-out drinks slide are 2 drawers of useful size and below these are 2 cupboard doors which have fully working locks and keys. These doors open to reveal a large storge area with wooden shelf.

To the bottom left is a another door which opens to reveal extra storage, handy for cans etc. This fabulous item is completed by a band of walnut around the bottom edges of the front and sides.
