| This is one of the nicest and most charming lamps we've come across in a very long time. This is a large and very impressive 1930's Art Deco novelty lamp. This very endearing lamp features a shooting star with a stylised female figure holding on tight over a large glass apple green globe shade which rests on a chrome triangular base. The shade is made of green glass with a 'British Made' stamp in gold coloured lettering on the base and is in excellent condition with no cracks. The chrome stand is thick and solid (not pressed tin) and in extremely good condition for its age, no dents etc, and fairly heavy. The only wear is to some of the chroming to the base which shows some signs of age. We had considered having this rechromed, however we think in this particular case, the shade hides most of the wear and it would be nice to keep this gorgeous lamp authentic as it's such a charming piece. The original press button on/off switch beside the glass shade has been made redundant sometime in its history for it is possibly too near the glass shade and a careless hand would knock it off its perch so it now has its on/off switch on the flex. It is in full working order and looks nothing less than stunning.
