| This is a superb
example of Art Deco design. This fabulous Bird`s eye Maple dressing table dates
to around 1930 and is Deco at it's very best. This piece was aimed at the very
top ef the luxury furniture market with its use of extravagant materials and flamboyant
design. This was a stunning piece of furniture in austere 1930`s Britain and would
have originally cost more than an average house of the period .Features a fantastic
oversize, plate glass circular mirror which is encased in walnut for contrast.
The mirror is bright and clear and in excellent condition. The sweeping dressing
table base has three good drawers to one side, with fine dovetail joints and is
mahogany lined, all drawers run smoothly. The other side has a functional shelved
cupboard with serpentine door. There is a central plate glass shelf which acts
as the dressing table top, which follows the contours of the sweeping walnut plinth,
gorgeous! Condition is excellent having been newly and professionally polished
by our restorers. There is a tiny tiny chip in the plate glass top shelf, very
minor and as you would expect from a piece that has been used and is 80 years
old. This highly stylised, fabulous quality, Bird`s Eye Maple dressing table would
look amazing in any home interior
