Description & price at the bottom of this page.

This gorgeous French manicure set was made by a top firm called Nogent, probably in the 1930s or 40s. The strikingly art deco stand is made from chrome, as are the blades on the tools that make up the set. The tall U-shaped stand has a stepped top rail in classic Odeon style, carrying 9 metal hooks. Suspended from these are five manicure tools, including a nail file etc, and small pairs of two different nail scissors hang at each end. There is a small support on the plinth for a buffer, though this is missing. The handles of the tools, and two decorative circular attachments on the stand, are made from some kind of early marbled plastic, possibly catalin. The whole effect is very Hollywood Star's dressing table! Condition overal is excellent, The set is in very good condition; the stand shows some signs of over-polishing on the surface, but this is not too noticeable. In all other respects the set is fine, the chrome on the tools is in very good order, and the scissors are sharp and clean.
