Art Deco Powder Compact

Rare 1920's Art deco Djer-kiss Kerkoff pressed powder compact with purple tassle. This compact is shown in Laura M Muellers collectors encyclopedia of compacts volume 1 page 19. Djer-kiss is the company that also made the well known fairies compact. It's marked poudre Djer-kiss Kerkoff and pat D usa 5.10.25 canada 1924 on the powder rim. It's also marked Djer-kiss on the very lightly used mauve purple and cream topped original powder puff. This compact is very collectable and is in a very good used vintage condition. As you can see from the pictures the case has a hammered white metal finish with a central monogramed cartouche with an narrow border design of leaves and flowers around the edge of the lid. Inside unusual white metal pressed powder dispenser marked on the rim with makers name and dated pat D 1924. The powder well also contains the original lightly used mauve purple and cream puff marked Djer-kiss. Original silk mauve tassle.
